Obama wasn’t kidding: he wants high gas prices.
A while back, Obama’s Secretary of Energy openly admitted that the Obama Administration wants high gas prices in America to “provide an incentive for alternate energy technology.”
Now, the statistics are in: The average price of a gallon of gas has increased 96% since Obama’s first term started in 2009, according to figures from the Energy Information Agency (EIA).
Update: Gas prices in 2013 could hit record highs– “so far this year, prices are surging sooner and faster than ever before.”
Another “green” bankruptcy
“A123 Systems Inc. (AONE), the electric car battery maker that received a $249.1 million federal grant, filed for bankruptcy.” Obama’s spent billions of taxpayer dollars on “green” companies that he believes will support him politically– and the result has been the Solyndra scandal and bankruptcy after bankruptcy.
Romney put it best during the first presidential debate: “don’t forget, you put $90 billion – like 50 years worth of breaks – into solar and wind, to Solyndra and Fisker and Tesla and Ener1. I mean, I had a friend who said, you don’t just pick the winners and losers; you pick the losers.”
Obama Administration openly admits that it wants high gas prices.
Obama’s Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu “regards the spike in gas prices as a feature rather than a bug. High gas prices provide an incentive for alternate energy technology, a priority for the White House, and a decrease in reliance on oil for energy.” Is this the kind of ‘environmentalism’ that you can believe in?
